The TLC is convenient, economical and clients can pay for sessions as they need them. No long term commitments unless you so choose. We are cheaper than most career placement agencies, we act as an advocate and sounding board and we are a great networking resource.
What can former military members or veterans expect in a life coaching session?
Most of all, Privacy! We are not a government agency and we answer to our soldiers or veterans only. We work on your behalf to achieve your goals after military service and we offer financial assistance - no questions asked. We offer discounted and or free services to military veterans. We can refer psychological services for all veterans and offer privacy - we are not a government agency.
E-Sessions
During sessions you are expected to talk about the primary concerns and issues in your life. A session lasts 50 minutes, but some people request longer sessions. Usually weekly sessions are best. During the time between sessions it is beneficial to think about and process what was discussed. At times, you may be asked to take certain actions outside of the coaching sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records. For life coaching to "work," you must be an active participant, both in and outside of the sessions.

What if I don't know what my goals are for life coaching after serving in the military? If you aren't sure what your goals are, your first task is to figure that out. Usually readjustment into civilian life is sometimes difficult. It may take several sessions before a direction is clarified. During the course of the coaching sessions your goals may change. However, establishing a direction for the sessions will help you get the most out of the experience. Remember, all of the coaches are military veterans as well and will understand your issues.
Do you accept insurance?In order for the TLC to offer continued private services to our veterans, we do not accept traditional insurance.
There is a confusing array of insurance arrangements. The first thing you must understand is that the (TLC) does not accept traditional insurance at this time, however their are several payment alternatives. The TLC may offer free services or sliding fee services to all veterans.
Is therapy confidential?
The TLC is a private NPO - Non Profit Organization - We offer private coaching and counseling services to all along with financial services to our veterans. Gulf, Iraq & Afghanistan Era. In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a therapist, but a life coach may not have the same protections. Information is not disclosed without written permission. However, there are a number of exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s. The therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety.
