We are the (TLC) Transitional Life Center & Veterans Services. We are a non-profit, non-bureaucratic small organization that operates nationally to assist Military Veterans of any War Era. The organization also provides coaching & counseling, career services along with referrals to mental health organizations for former soldiers. The TLC & Veterans Services finds this cause extremely important because we have come to the realization that many of our proud soldiers that are released from military service are landing on the streets as the nations homeless populations grow, data indicates that a large percentage of returning vets face mental health issues but never receive any help for various reasons including pride, lack of availability of services, fear of reprisal or an understandable desire to put the experience behind them (ACA, 11/2008).
We are asking for financial donations in any amount as our goal is to assist with the little things such as:
- Cab fare to the local Veterans hospital and or other mode of transportation.
- Pay a utility bill
- Make a car payment
- Purchase a plane or bus ticket home
- Make a college tuition payment
- Pay for groceries/gas/clothing
- Pay a mortgage allowing soldiers to remain in their homes
The Transitional Life Center & Veterans Services pays all with a “no questions asked” policy allowing the veteran or representative to request assistance with an identification card and a copy of his/her DD-214. Clearly the need is there, our organization will fill the needs as our funding allows as we can never thank U.S. Veterans enough for defending our freedom and your donation will help us continue to offer such services.
If you have programs within your organization that are designed specifically for military service veterans, particularly those that are disabled, please inform us and if you hire veterans please pay them a living wage. We thank you for your time and consideration.
